Adam Freeland

Back

We welcome a pioneer for a very rare performance.

You can't think of breakbeats without thinking of Adam Freeland. For a significant period during the early 2000s, his Brighton-based Marine Parade imprint was responsible for shaping the burgeoning sound into a tight, new package that sat somewhere between the energy of a live rock band and the cutting-edge futurism of electronic music. Later on, he created the Californian supergroup The Acid, which included the vocal stylings of Ry X. Together, they deployed a friendlier pop sound that had as much root in bands like Radiohead as it had in those early days of Marine Parade. Today, Adam Freeland lives an off-the-grid lifestyle in the Mojave Desert, surrounded by Joshua Trees and the whims of the environment's relentless weather. This is an extremely rare perfomance from the reclusive artist and we couldn't be more thrilled to be able to coax this dance music legend out from the desert to join us in Croatia.
